2 Posts In 1, Pat’s Bar & Hanging With the Girls! (CO) “DAYS 170 & 171” – 12/21/10 & 12/22/10

December 23, 2010 - 12:31 pm - (CO) “DAY 170” - Week 25 - State 23

I woke up this morning still behind on my posts so I immediately got to writing.  Again, for the whole day, I did nothing but upload pictures and write.  My day of work ended around 6 pm when Sadie and Ali both got home.  Ahhh... I’m still behind. 😉

Anyway, earlier this morning, the girls and I agreed to go dinner tonight at Chili’s after they got off work so... we went to Chili’s.  I picked Chili’s because I have gift certificates from the work I did in AZ and I told the girls I’d buy them dinner. 🙂

Chili’s is just a few miles from where they live so in a matter of ten minutes we there and seated.  Although the three of us had good conversation and enjoyed ourselves, there really isn’t much of a story to tell except we ordered a lot of food!

After gorging ourselves, we decided to drive around town looking at X-Mas light displays   in the neighborhood they live in (or live close to).  As I have already said in previous post, I enjoy looking at X-Mas light as my Mom and I used to do this when I was young. 🙂

X-Mas Light Displays
For the next 30 minutes or so we drove around town looking at different light displays.  The problem... my pictures didn’t come out to good (lighting), so I don’t have much to show you.

But, a few pictures did come out good and they weren’t necessarily of X-Mas stuff but of a guy who had a Giraffe and Elephant sitting on benches right in front of his house.  It was so weird, I had to get out of the car and get of picture of it from his property.

Pat’s on Littleton Bar &Grill

After the girls and I got done looking at lights, they went home to go to sleep and I went to Pat’s on Littleton to meet up with a old friend, Pat.  This bar is only 7 miles or so from where Sadie lives so it isn’t to far.

F.Y.I. - Pat was best friend’s with my best friend from childhood (Justin) while they were both in college many years ago.  And, while they were in college (and even after), I have met up with Pat and hung out with him, so I do know him a little and would consider him a friend. (Right: Monkey, Me, Jerery, Tyra)

Anyway, it cool to meet finally meet up Pat because when I was in Denver 2 months ago I didn’t get to see him.  I arrived at his bar and as soon as I walked in, Pat greeted me by the door.  Nice!

The cool thing about hanging out with Pat is that even though we haven’t hung that much, he still feels like close friend because we have Justin (A.K.A. Monkey) in common.  What I mean is, throughout years we have been filled in about each other lives Justin so we do know each other.

Anyway, I feel like I’m rambling so I’ll just get to the night.  For the most part, I just hung out with Pat and talked about whatever (sports, life, etc...).  But there was karaoke going on so i had to bust out my best and sing a sing for the bar.

After a few cocktails (not that I need that to sing ;)), I grabbed the mic and sang Tone Loc’s “Wild Thing”.   I sing this song for a reasons, 1.) I like it,  2.) The crowd always seems to enjoy it, and 3.) my voice sounds like Ton Loc.  A perfect fit!  🙂

The Rest Of The Night
For the rest of the night, I just hung around the bar and met whoever was there. (It’s easy to meet to people when you’re hanging out with the owner of the bar. ;)) None the less, everybody there was cool to me and I had a great time.

Oh yeah, sometime during the course of the night, I started talking with the guy who was working karaoke (Zach).  Zach was real cool as he gave me advice on the area and what bars to go to, etc...  Thanks Zach!

It was almost 2 am when I left, so I thanked Pat for everything (no tab) and then scheduled it out when he was free to hang out again. (I think we’re gonna hang out X-Mas Eve but he still has to check on some stuff.)

Well, that was it.  I got back to Sadie’s, quietly snuck in so I wouldn’t wake anybody up, and then passed out on the couch.  I had another great day! 🙂

December 23, 2010 - 1:15 pm - (CO) “DAY 171” - Week 25 - State 22

I woke up this morning around 10 am and soon realized I had gotten a parking ticket on my car.  Ahhh!  F&$K!  (I found out when I went to my car to get some cloths.)

Anyway, I looked on the back on the ticket and it said you could fight it today, so that’s what I’m doing. 🙁  After steaming over the ticket, I went back in the house and did some writing before I left to fight this unjust parking violation!

Downtown Denver
Around 2 pm, I left Sadie and Ali’s and headed into downtown Denver to fight my parking ticket.  I was sure where I had to go, so I drove around the city for bit until I found somebody who gave me directions.  (Only for 5 minutes or so.)

Parking Building (Not real name)
The building the parking magistrate is in is very nice as it has many cool pieces of art work on the walls as well as throughout the building.  Also they had a saying writing in stone on the front of the building and another on as soon as you walked in.  It’s a pretty cool place.

Parking Magistrate

After taking in the scenery, I found my way to the reason I was there... to fight a parking ticket.  The wait wasn’t long as I got there around 2:10 pm and was speaking with somebody by 2:30.

I argued with everything I had, used charm, made poor comments, but the best they could do was just cut to the ticket in half from $50 to $25.  I’ll take it but I wish it was completely reversed because they was no sign there telling me not to park.  (I got the ticket because you can’t park within 5 feet of driveway.)  What?

Hanging At Sadie and Ali’s
After getting the parking ticket taken care of, I went back to girls place for the rest of the day and night.  All I did until the girls got home was write and do laundry.  Then around 4 pm Sadie got home from work and we just b.s.’d as good friends do.

Sadie left around 5 pm to go out with her Dad, so I watched TV and relaxed until Ali got home around 6:45.  (Well, she stopped in for a second earlier and we decided we’d get pizza together for dinner, delivered.)

Eating Pizza & Watching A Movie

Sadie was out for the night (although she stopped home for minute too), so Ali and I ate pizza then scanned through the TV to see what movie we wanted to watch.  After some deliberation between “ Wall Street 2” and “Devil”, we choose “Wall Street”.

There isn’t that much more to write because half-way through the movie (well 3/4th), I feel asleep on the couch and didn’t wake up until the next morning.  So that was my day!  Not to exciting, but I enjoyed just relaxing with friends on a cold Wednesday night. 🙂
