A Full “Vegas” Day! (Las Vegas) “DAY 125” – 11/6/10

November 7, 2010 - 4:18 pm - (Las Vegas) - “DAY 125”

Before I start writing “DAY 125”, I have to tell you that it will be a shortened version because I just got to my boy’s Matt Quinn’s place in L.A.  I know Matt because we were on the reality TV show “Forever Eden” (Fox) together about 7 years ago.

Anyway, I’m chilling with him watching football in his place right now, so I’m gonna write as much as I can without taking 3 hours to do it. 🙂  With that said... here’s my Saturday in “Sin City”!

Getting Up Early
Since I went bed early last night (1 am-ish), I got up at 8 am bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for a full “Vegas” day.  The first thing I did was go down to the Sports Book to see what college football games  I was gonna bet.

F.Y.I. - When you bet games in Vegas you can get free drink tickets.  So I got a bunch if them when I placed my early wagers.  Also... sports betting is my cryptonite!  I love it and suck at it!

Anyway, I bet $100 on Clemson -3 1/2 as well as a $20 four team parlay.   I stayed in the sports book area and drank while I watched Clemson win the game but lose the bet for me.  Damn you Clemson!  I took my loss and headed back to my room for a nap.

Walking The Strip With Wende
After waking up, I called Wende to walk the strip with me.  I know it’s kinda cheesey to walk the strip in the Vegas but it’s her first time here so that’s what we did.  (I’ll admit, I was also excited to see some of the cool Hotel shows they put on out front.) 😉

Treasure Island Then The Mirage (Volcano)
From Bally’s, we walked about a half-mile to Treasure Island so we could see the pirate show.  The problem... the internet said the first show was at 5:30 pm but it wasn’t... so we left there and walked back toward “The Mirage” for their Volcano show.

We got there a few minutes before it erupted (it goes off every hour after dark) so we had a great view of the show.  It started right on time as native type music filled the air.

Then, right before your eyes... this man made volcano begins to erupt on “The Strip”.  It is a awesome display of creativity and ingenuity.  While the volcano is erupting at different levels of aggression, there are a bunch of flames shooting out of the lake.  Real cool! 🙂

The whole show lasted for only 4 minutes but it was a awesome 4 minutes... well worth the wait.  If you’re ever in Vegas walking on the strip, make sure to catch this show as you walk by.

After leaving the volcano, we kept walking around the strip.  Then, we spotted a discount ticket center so we stopped in to see if their were any affordable shows (real Vegas shows) for us to go to.  After looking over the deals, we choose to see a Hypnotist show ($30).

Hypnotist Show
The show was at the Harmon Theature (a few blocks from Bally’s) and it started at 9 pm so we got there at 8:30 pm because it was first come, first serve seating (or so we thought).   The way it actually was, was THEY decided where to sit you when you arrived.

For some reason they put Wende and I in the front row.  Unfortunately, they said you couldn’t use your camera during the show and since it was only about a crowd of 100, you couldn’t really sneak it either.

I tell you this because as it turned out... I was the show!  I was one of the 8 people picked to be up on stage and get hypnotized! 🙂 LOL  They asked people in the audience to volunteer and when I raised my hand... I was one of the chosen few. 😉

Up On Stage
So... there I was up on the stage in front of the whole audience wacking off a teddy bear (evidently), while I was under... I’ll never tell whether or not I was actually hypnotized but  I will say... it was a lot of fun! 🙂

F.Y.I. - I do have a video of the whole show (Wende bought it for me), so when I have time, I will try and upload it for you. 🙂

The whole show lasted for about an hour and half and as I said... I was the show because afterward the whole audience came up to me and said it was so funny... so on and so forth!  I guess I did some crazy shit up there on stage! 😉

Bellagio - The Fountains
As we walking back from the show, we noticed the Bellagio water show going on out front of their property.  Basically, it’s a bunch of fountains going off (synchronized) to Italian music (the song Will Farrell sings at the end of “Step Brothers”).

It was another awesome display of engineering and ingenuity.  I found myself almost in a trance as the fountains kept going off simultaneously.  Or.. maybe I was still under from the Hypnotist... my personal “Office Space” moment. 😉

This show lasted for about the same as the volcano, roughly 5 minutes.  Bally’s was right across the street, so when it finished, we went back to the hotel room and ordered room service. 🙂

Room Service
I love room service because well... you can be lazy and still eat!  The problem... it’s expensive.  Luckily for me, Wende said she would buy (she loves room service too) so we ordered a few things and stuffed our faces.

Again... I had to be early to drive back to L.A. in morning, so I called it a night around 2 am and went to bed.  Thanks for fun weekend Wende!  Now... do your charity work for me!

Thanks for reading!

Not this time. Poker is a isolating game and I was there with a friend. I’ll be there in a week or two and it will be a full week of poker!
