NFL Sunday & A Place To Stay! (SD-IA) “DAY 70” – 9/12/10

September 13, 2010 - 10:36 am - (SD-IA) “DAY 70”

I woke up around 11 am today and normally that is OK with me, but today I should have gotten up earlier because it’s NFL SUNDAY and now I have write my post while the games are on!  A lessen learned for next week... 😉

I was mad that I only had 2 hours til kickoff when I realized since I’m in the Mid-West, the games start at noon.  Ahhh!!!  I only have a hour before kick-off... rat farts!

Mac Behr's

So... I wrote as fast as I could but it still wasn’t fast enough because I didn’t get to a bar to watch the games until halftime of the early games (1 pm east coast). 🙁

Mac Behr’s Sports Bar/Nightclub
I did some searching and found out the best place to watch all the games in Sioux City was at the club I went to last night, Mac Behr’s.  Nice... I know where I’m going.

So I headed down there, took a seat a bar, and watched the second half of all the games but my focus was on the Steeler game.

The game was close the whole way (no Ben) but the defense played great (lead by Polomalu) and we squeaked out a win in overtime after Mendenhall ran for a 50 yardTD.  Sweet!

A Place To Stay
I watched a little bit of the late games before I called Craig to see if he was still OK with me crashing at his place tonight.  Heck, I just met him last night and he did have a few drinks... I hope he’s still OK with his offer?...

Me and Craig (MMA Event)

He did answer my call and said it was still OK to stay at his place for the night.  Nice!  He gave me his address and I headed over to his pad (15 miles from where I was).

I got to Craig’s around 7 pm and he couldn’t have been more hospitable.  As soon as I walked in, he offered me dinner, a place to do my laundry, and showed me where I would be sleeping tonight.  (A Broncos Blanket!  I may sleep on the couch! ;))

Craig is a real cool guy, again... just like any of my friends from around the country except he has lived in Sioux City his whole life.  This is his town.

Anyway, we hung out in his living room, watched football, talked about life, and had a bunch of laughs.  Ahh... I needed a day like this!  Being able to just relax on a couch and watch Sunday Night Football was priceless!

At halftime of the Cowboys/Redskins game, he made us some burgers while I organized everything I had.  My car and stuff had gotten way out of control... I didn’t know where anything was anymore.

During this time is when I started to do my laundry as well.  If I didn’t know better, I’d a thought I was at a relatives place in Sioux City... that’s how welcome I was treated and felt!

The game ended around 11 pm (Cowboys Suck!) as Craig called it night and went to sleep with one eye open (I’m sure ;)) LOL  It was funny because we were both worried about the same thing...  Getting raped in the middle of the night by the other!

We laughed about how our fears were so similar, but I trusted him and wasn’t nervous at all.  None-the-less... it was still funny! 🙂

I finally fell asleep sometime after 2 am and got up this morning at 10 am but Craig had already left for work.  So here I am in his place, all by myself as I write todays (Sunday’s) post.  Man... people are so cool!

Thank You Craig

Thank You!

When somebody does for me what Craig did (as Matt and Pratt did in Ohio)... it’s a overwhelming feeling!  To have just met somebody and then they let me into their home and open up there trust to me... it is just so amazing, it’s hard to even write how grateful I am!

So... to you Craig... I THANK YOU!  And if you ever need a place to crash (if I ever have one ;))... you are always welcome at where ever I’m living!

Fitness / Dating
Unfortunately for me, I haven’t been working out at all.  I found out that when I’m in survival mode (looking for a place to stay, eat, etc..), I am not focused on any thing else.  So working out, meeting women, etc... all go by the wayside when I feel like that.

194.8 lbs

I am going to have to try and fix this mental feeling so I can experience more than just making it in the cities where I know nobody and have nowhere to stay.  It’s a work in progress and I learn new things everyday.  I’m working on it!

None-the-less, I did weigh myself today and I am the lightest I have been in at least 10 years (194 lbs).  I guess not eating junk food late night was all I needed to cut out in order to lose some fat. 😉  Now I need to start working out again!

Charity Work
For the last two weeks, I have not been able to find any charity work (N.D. - S.D.). Wendy has tried to find places for me but it has been unsuccessful.  She said there was just nothing around here and she was right... there is nothing around here!

This week though, I will be in Council Bluffs, Iowa and we already found a place for me to give back.  Perfect! 🙂

As soon as I finish writing this post, I will be headed to Council Bluffs.  Again... I have nowhere to stay and no nobody but at least they have a bunch of casinos.  And... from what I’ve heard, they are big casinos similar to Atlantic City, NJ.

We’ll see about that, but what I do know is that “The Horseshoe” is a Harrah’s run property, so it should be nice and maybe my comps from NJ Harrah’s will transfer over.

Wish me luck!

Thanks for reading!
