Traveling To Georgia! (FL-GA) “DAY 254” – 3/15/11

March 16, 2011 - 2:24 am - (FL-GA) “DAY 254” - Week 37 - State 33

I woke up in Scott’s living room this morning and immediately got to writing because I had a long drive ahead of me.  Florida is a real long state!  Anyway, as I was writing, Scott was working and this lasted until noon.

At lunch time Scott took a break and we hung out for a little bit before I left to travel north to Georgia (somewhere, I’m not sure yet).  Even though I only stayed here for a day, it was great seeing Scott again as I don’t know the next time we will hang out. Thanks for everything Scott! 🙂

F.Y.I - I could have stayed at Scott’s another day or more but my plan is to spend as close to a week as I can each state, so although I could have gone to a baseball game with Scott and stayed another day, it was time to leave.  I was also tempted to stop in Daytona for Spring Break Day, but the plan is the plan.

Traveling To Georgia

The drive to Georgia wasn’t my longest drive of the trip, but boy did it feel like it.  Maybe it was because I was a little tired from writing/posting at Starbucks for an hour before I left or maybe it was because I didn’t have clue where I was going.

Either way, the drive was a tough one.  Although I wasn’t certain where I was going, my tentative plan was to drive toward Brunswick, GA because there is a tree house hostel or something there ($25 for a bed in a tree house).

Along the way, I spoke with Jeremy and after an executive meeting, we decided I was gonna head to tree house place and see what crazy stuff they had going on there.

Passing Daytona Beach & Jacksonville
As I mentioned earlier, I was tempted to pull off the road when I passed Daytona Beach for a little spring break partying, but I don’t have the funds to party spring break style and I do want to get to Georgia today.

After I passed Daytona Beach, I drove through Jacksonville.  Now, if Jacksonville would have had a casino hotel off the highway, I would have pulled over.  But, since I didn’t see any billboards, I stuck to the plan and kept driving north to Georgia.

Arriving In Georgia
By the time I entered Georgia, it was dark out and since the tree house had no electricity or TV or anything modern (I spoke to a person there on the phone), I changed my mind as I got close and found the nearest Motel 6 (7 miles north of the tree place).

Motel 6
Since the tree house was $25 and the Motel 6 was only $41 after tax, I felt like I made decision for tonight’s accommodations. (After a long drive and it being dark and all, I figured showing up at tree house at night wasn’t the best idea, maybe tomorrow though.)

My Room
I got to my Motel 6 room and it was just like every other Motel 6 room I have stayed in on this trip.  Not bad, not good.  It’s clean but it’s dirty.  It got a TV but the TV is small and only has a few channels.  You picking up what I’m putting down. LOL

Anyway, since I was tired from a long drive, all I did was get some dinner at KFC and hang out in my room for the majority of the night. (I did hang out with my neighbor for a little bit as I met her while I was unpacking my car, but nothing to talk about).

Well... that’s it as I have made it to another state and the cool thing is... every mile I drive now... is a mile closer to home!  Pretty cool! 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Rooster I love how you fail to let your readers know how much money you have left? How much money do you gave left point fucking blank. You have been to a casino once in the last 10 data and lost. Yet u pass on the cheaper room…. sweet bro. I love how u leave out such great detail in Ur post about finances out. What happened to separate accounts for starting money and donations have you tapped in to the donation money at all or not bottom line9 thia trip would be long over without suicide pool money….

Mike… You are the best! I haven’t check exactly… but I have less than $950. currently. And I did write many many many days ago that the accounts have been combined and have been for over 150 days. I realized that donation money and my money were one in the same, I’ve just kept a record to myself of who’s donated and how much, so I can thank them appropriately.

And no… the trip has found a way when a way has been needed. If I didn’t win the pool, I’d like to think something else would have came up. 🙂

P.S. – Not that people should, but I haven’t had anybody donate money to me in months. (Except Geri’s $23 every 2 weeks.) Thanks Geri!

So how much money have you won at poker on the trip total? Are you up or down? How many poker sessions have you put in? When I spoke with you at the poker table you said you were going to document It all. You have failed to do so. Look on your website the original plan, you have failed to carry through on this rooster. The trip should be titled how to rape my friends and innocent people across the country!!!! Tampa did not play poker Miami played once Alabama did not play Louisiana think u played once or twice 2 weeks in Texas played 0 Oklahoma think you played once and Arkansas did not play did not play in Utah did not play played 1 or twice in Denver Arizona think u played twice Ohio did not play!!!!! I plan on hitting as many poker establishments as I can, weather.it be at casinos, poker parlors, or even home games to try to earn enough money to make it to the next city and beyond…. your words rooster not mine no gym membership no dates on Saturday mabey 2 or 3 dates and were pathetic throughout the trip. See biggest attraction you failed to do this in the majority of places. How come you are not plYing very much poker you told me you rarely have a loosing week. Looks like poker is not nearly as profitable as.you originally made it out to be for yourself huh? Mabey I’m just missing something, who knows, explain yourself. I have read every post since your start and at one point in time loved what you were doing the more I read the more disgusted I have been getting.
