My Dog (Max) – Thanks D

This is a picture of my dog Max that I’m leaving behind for the year. Actually his name is Maximus Decimus Meridius after Russell Crowe’s character in Gladiator.  I named him that because he lived in the pound for well over a year and "...he willhave his vengeance for that in this life or the next! Knowing my dog... it will have to be the next."

My friends and family were shocked when I got a dog (Max) about 2 1/2 years ago. That’s because as a small child I was bitten by an Alaskan Malamute (the white husky dogs) in my face and lost part of my lip, ear, and nose. This happened at my cousin's family party. Anyway, luckily I was near a good hospital where a top plastic surgeon stitched me up. I barely have any scars from the attack but after that I was terrified of dogs.

As I got older, I realized it wasn’t all dogs I didn’t like, just the aggressive, loud, and crazy ones I wasn’t fond of. Fast forward...so there I was at 33 years old living in my home town and going to college again but at this age my friends from childhood were living real lives (kids, jobs, etc.)  I didn’t have as many people to hang out with as I used to so... I got a dog, Max.

Max is the coolest dog in the world. He doesn’t bark, jump on you, or anything really outrageous.  He is also the laziest for just 3 1/2 years old. But he is real cool, he’ll watch a whole a day of football with me and not say a word, perfect! No barking, nothing!

I’ll miss ya buddy! Thank you again D (and Anthony) for watching Max for the next year, you don’t have to worry about him running away... it takes to much energy!

Glad to have read your “About Rooster” and I wish you safe travels. I hope you discover great things about our country and yourself.

If you’re hungry on a Saturday, throw on a yarmulke and hit the local synagogue for a free bagel brunch. It might be a good place to network for local poker action. Just a thought.
